My name is Rachael Gass, and I am an Educational Psychologist (EP). EPs work with schools to provide advice on what might help children to learn and develop. I have been an EP for 16 years and worked with Norman Gate school for three years. I usually visit the school once or twice a term and work closely with the school help pupils find something challenging at that time. I typically talk to teachers, and sometimes I work in classes too. I enjoy working with Norman Gate school – it is a friendly and positive place to be.
Norman Gate School is a primary school for children aged two and nine months – 11 with a moderate range of additional learning needs (MLD). We have approximately 98 children on roll in 9 classes, on average ten children per class, one teacher and usually two or three learning support assistants. This includes 18 part-time children in the nursery.
