Our school offers a provision for children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and associated needs often linked to cognition, learning, and communication and interaction needs. A growing proportion of our children have more complex learning needs.
Our children access our Nursery after a referral by a practitioner who feels the child would benefit from a specialist nursery setting. In our School, almost all children will have an Education, Health and Care Plan or, in exceptional circumstances, have one being processed.
Hampshire Local Authority is responsible for maintaining Education, Health and Care Plans and deciding on pupil placements in special school provisions. Parents can appeal to the SEN tribunal if they disagree with the stated needs or provision of the plan.
As part of the assessment process, we encourage prospective families to attend our monthly open mornings to help decide if we are the right school for your child.
The Hampshire Local Authority decide which children are placed with the school. Don’t hesitate to contact the SEND department at 01329 316165 for further information on the process.
