Headteacher Update – Norman Gate School

This week marks the first week of many of you being at home in what can only be described as extraordinary times. Part of this challenge is that we do not know how long these measures will go on and how they might affect our families and us shortly. I don’t have these answers for you, but what I can say is please be kind to yourselves and take one day at a time. The team are busy creating activity ideas that can be done at home. These are ideas only, do not feel you have to complete these but use them if they are helpful. It is vital that you and your children can navigate the day successfully without the additional pressure of learning if it creates an unhappy home. I have a new letter which answers some questions we have had from our families. Would you please look in the notes to the parent section for this?

Some of you have expressed a worry about shopping locally. There is a fantastic team of local volunteers who may be able to assist you at this time: The Andover Self Isolation Help team can be contacted via Facebook or on 01264 748 946. Please give them a call if you require help with practical things such as prescriptions, shopping or if you need someone to chat to.

Another local group of interest is the Andover Self Isolation Additional Needs Parent Support group on Facebook.

Stay safe and well.
